Being the Sethu Creche Teacher, I have new opportunities everyday to learn from the children in my care. These enlightening experiences with young children enable me to reflect, improve and grow as a person.
In terms of my main responsibilities as well as ensuring there are enriching and fun activities always ready is the monitoring and safety of children under my care while their parents are unavailable.
To ensure children, who are generally aged between 3 and 10yrs old are kept busy at the creche. We use multisensory methods such as stories, games, art, and outdoor activities to stimulate children, all carried out with a sense of fun and without any pressure.
The emphasis at the creche is on establishing rapport, following the child’s lead, and engaging in child-led activities with a balanced approach. Activities are pre-planned and based around the children’s grade level but are skill appropriate for the individual.
We love talking to parents about their children and rest assured we always strive to communicate with parents in a respectful manner and keep them up to date on their children’s activities and interaction.
