Ameeta Mascarenhas

Ameeta Mascarenhas

TRUSTEE

Ameeta trained as a paediatrician who, after working for 6 years at the Goa Medical College, moved on to explore other avenues. She has worked as a copywriter at advertising agencies in Mumbai and Dubai. She is committed to Sethu, because she believes that all children should have every opportunity to enjoy a happy, healthy childhood, and that is what Sethu strives to do. By being a part of this team she can in some way give back to Goa - a place that has given its best to her.

Olga Maladen

Olga Maladen

TRUSTEE

Coming on board Sethu was a golden opportunity for Olga to work with passionate, brilliant people dedicated to child development. After almost 3 decades as a senior manager in the airline industry she retired with a wealth of experience she wanted to do use for the benefit of society. As our trustee she has been able to infuse professionalism in the administration department, strengthening the team into an efficient structured unit and the organisation as a whole where people are its biggest asset. To see the team happy with their jobs and pass that on in the form of kindness to the children Sethu serves is her motivation. She spends her free time gardening, reading and reconnecting with family and friends. Travelling with family is what she makes sure she does as often as she can.

Michael Mendonsa

Michael Mendonsa

TRUSTEE

Mike has been one of our strongest supporters and it is an honor to have him on board the Sethu ship. He was a Master Mariner by profession who spends most of his on-shore time making sure things at Sethu are ship-shape! After 43 years of sailing, he has hung up his ‘sea boots’ and now looks forward to helping the team realise their dream of building a centre of their very own. Swimming, meditation and the camaraderie of friends keep Mike fit and on track to do whatever is needed for the good of Sethu, where a big part of his future is calling; ahoy!

Neena Jacob

Neena Jacob

TRUSTEE

Neena recently retired as an educator after 33 years in a mainstream school. However, when you have that much experience and enthusiasm for education you never really retire! The school board where she served were firm believers in inclusive education, despite the one teacher to 60 children ratio in every class. As Head, Neena worked with teachers ensuring all children felt they belonged and worked with them toward actualising their potential. Learning by doing, a belief in multiple intelligences as well as community involvement is what made inclusion work. As a Trustee for Sethu she is in the perfect position to share her experience and conviction. Neena, is a key resource person in our teacher education and Government primary school project. She is a keen bird watcher and doodler in her spare time!
